I am an IT person with extensive experience in a wide variety of fields.
I have been developing software from a young age and continue to do so as a hobby just for the fun of it. The satisfaction of finding a solution to a difficult programming problem (or any other kind of problem) is what keeps me motivated and entertained.
I have also spent a lot of time building and repairing PC's and laptops and could not even begin to estimate how many I have put together successfully over my lifetime.
I currently have a 1 gigabit per second wired network at home which includes 3 self built computers. One is a server which has all of my video, photos and documents and serves as a media center for all of the network enabled devices in my home. Another is a media center for my living room smart TV. The remaining PC is my development PC which I use for video editing, software development and anything else that my other PC's are not designed for. I also have many many devices connected to my network via Wi-Fi including smart light bulbs, sockets, etc.
I am a gadget geek and love nothing more than buying and playing with new and innovative gadgets.
My Ethos for life is that I'm only getting one life so I should do as much as possible with it. To that end I have started many different hobbies and learned as much as I can about the universe around me. Whilst my approach to life does mean that some hobbies and studies only get a little of my time there are particular hobbies that I have thrown myself into. For example my Mandarin maybe a little rusty but I continue to learn new skills and I am now studying for a BSc (Honours) computing and IT to keep my IT knowledge up to date.
